The Volga Boatmen - sung by Paul Robeson
This is a Russian folk song. This is my favorite recording of it that I’ve found. He sings a combination of the Russian lyrics and the English translation, seems like.
I don’t know what this is. The video is cool.
This is some folk punk thing with a banjo. I don’t remember this.
This is some British rap thing.
This is a Ukrainian folk song. This one is really nice.
This is that Mount Eerie, you know.
Drive By Truckers -Sounds Better In The Song.wmv
This is a cool alt country thing.
Disembowelment of None’s by Dug Yuck
This is a weird lofi folk noise album, or something.
This is a cool rap song. Some immaculate shit.
Adrian Orange at 321 Art Space (2)
This is Adrian Orange playing the song “YYY Bee” at Take It To The Limit Fest 2007, maybe. This one is nice.
The Wailing Wall - Nails And Wood live
This is a folk song by a guy on the JDub label, that put out the first Matisyahu album.
Gucci Mane ft Jim Jones - Kansas (official video)
This is a Gucci and Jim Jones song with the line “bitch, take these ten bricks to Kansas” in the chorus.
The East Flatbush Project feat Des “Tried By 12”
This is a classic rap song. “I’d rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.”
Log Cabin Crew- The Day I put on my uniform
This is some OG California weirdo rap. This has like historical significance.
This is some chill indie new age album. I don’t know what this is.
English Frank - The Warm Up (Produced by Alex Breadman)
This is another British rap song. He says “fuck 75 thousand CDs, fam.”
Edward Scissortongue - Spastic Max (Official Video) (Prod. Lamplighter)
This is a pretty wild British story rap thing. This one is really cool.
This is the Great Mall of the Great Plains in Olathe, Kansas. It’s the biggest shopping mall in Kansas.
Here are some excerpts of Yelp reviews of the Great Mall:
“A 2006 review stated the mall was dying. Unfortunately it’s 2012 and the place is still, somehow, alive. That’s not good for anybody. Walking in to this place is like walking in to the past. A past that time has forgotten. It looks like a sad 80s mall that was stuck in time.”
“I honestly don’t see how any of the shops stay in business. The food court is now down to a NY Deli/Pizza counter, an Indian/BBQ place (that had nobody at the counter), a Teriyaki place, and a cookie shop.”
“It is really sad how empty this mall is… businesses have jumped ship a lot lately. They have tried to add a few new things like a fire station museum, railroad museums, and now a kids rollerskating rink. I don’t go there on a normal basis…”
“A dying outlet mall, but [not] for the Steve & Barry’s University Sportswear. Steve & Barry’s offers college sports-team hoodies and T-shirts, “The More You Drink the Better I Look” graphic Ts, and Hawaiian shirts, all priced either $7.99 or $14.99. Looks like clothes shopping isn’t just for women anymore.”
“The most pathetic and disgisting [sic] mall on the face of the Earth.”
